Cancer
For the Week of March 29, 2009
You know, there’s a certain satisfaction in a job well done. Uh, God. Gag. But this week that’s the gist of it – you’ll be ready to really work, really examine things, really negotiate. There was a great episode of 30 Rock a couple of months ago – last season, maybe? – where Alec Baldwin is negotiating contracts and just LOVING it. Seem a little nerdy? Well, again – not this week.
That’s where the greatest satisfaction is going to come for you this week, Cancer. Towards the end of the week you might even start to feel like the work you’ve done is fulfilling a deep need, answering some deep questions about what life means for you, about where you’re going. You’re going to be feeling awfully talky about it (well, talky for you, which isn’t really that talky). So work it out. Just don’t let yourself too wound up in all of the crazy paperwork and complications that you end up boring everyone around you to tears. There’s a bigger picture, after all – try to find it and you’ll be just fine.
For the Week of March 22, 2009
You know how the ultimate test of mind control is supposed to be bending a spoon without touching it? THAT, Cancer, has been your lesson this past year and a half or so, and will actually continue on through the end of this year. Not the spoon thing per se – close the silverware drawer – but disciplining your thoughts and philosophies of life in a practical, straightforward manner.
This week, this’ll come easy to you. You’ll find that your mind works most clearly when you’re focusing on the bigger issues of life – the really big ones: sex, death, beginnings, endings. It’s through all of these big issues that the smaller things – love, money, career (I know these things don’t seem so small right now, but perspective, please!) – are going to start falling into your lap.
Your mind’ll be spinning with philosophy this week, which is a great way to tie together the minute with the grand scale of things – but make sure that you’re more focused on, say, Plato, or Kant, than someone like the Marquis de Sade. Though you may find the latter amusing, you’ll soak all sorts of negative emotions up like a sponge this week, so be careful to surround yourself with positive emotions while you ponder the nature of existence.
Easy, right?
For the Week of March 15, 2009
Did you ever see that show Designing Women? All of these crazy Southern women dressed to the nines, modern day (or at least, 1980s-day) Scarlett O’Haras just getting shit done.
You’re going to have a great amount of creative energy over the next week. It’s a time to focus on all of the best, most fun things in life: learning, creativity, travel. You’ll be bringing a lot of energy to your career, in a philosophic sense. Rethink things, play around with ideas, keep a notepad with you at all times in case you get a brainwave at four in the morning or something like that.
This is generally a pretty pleasant time of the year for you. Just try to enjoy it - it's spring, after all! Don't let the mundane, day-to-day tasks bring you down.
Legal stuff, or questions about rules, might come up right now, especially related to work, but just look at it philosophically, put it all in the bigger picture, and try to relax and have fun anyway. Channel Delta Burke if you have to. Give your office a makeover. It’s a productive time.
