Pisces

For the Week of March 29, 2009

Poor Pisces.  No, really – I’m not referring to your tendency to get lost in your own emotions here.  Seriously – if anyone’s felt this recession more than other signs, it’s you. Better go check that bank balance.  Wait – before you do though – take a sec.  Cool off.

Right now, you’re probably more than a bit preoccupied with the things that you value.  If abundant, you’re fixating on them, admiring the beauty of the art on your walls, the speed of your car, the size of your wallet.  But if things are swinging to the other end of the pendulum?  You’ll spook easy this week.

You’re going to be preoccupied with money, primarily, this week, for better or for worse, and you might as well make it for the better.  Come up with a long-term plan, find ways to save that won’t cramp your style, maybe downsize here or there.  Whatever you can do to sate these anxieties in a concrete manner, it’ll make you feel a lot better.

It’s all about the plans.  Don’t wallow.  Everything’s going to be just fine.

For the Week of March 22, 2009

You’re going to make fun of me, but I’m going to plunge right in anyways: Lao Tzu said, “Knowing others is wisdom.  Knowing oneself is enlightenment.”  Think about that this week, Pisces, as typical astrologer-y as that advice may be.  You may be more than usually withdrawn at the beginning of this week, worrying about some aspect of yourself: something you’ve done that you shouldn’t have, something you’ve said that came out wrong –it’s likely to be something small but nonetheless important to your conception of who you really are.

For that reason, it’s important to recognize this anxiety – but don’t give it too much importance, either.  By the middle of the week, you’ll have a great chance to use this energy to work out some old problems or issues that have been riding you for some time now, if you don’t get too caught up on what’s going right (or wrong) in this exact moment.  Instead, try to contextualize what’s going on and see what it indicates about patterns and cycles in your life that desperately need to be changed.

A lot of Pisces (particularly those with Aries influences in their chart) are then due an incredible weekend – but even if that’s not the case with you, you should be feeling a lot more secure about who you are and what you’re worth.

Trying to tell a Pisces not to worry is like telling a Virgo to just stop cleaning for one second – it’s pretty futile.  But if you’re worried this week, just know that it’s part of an important cycle that you have to go through to get to the other side a little bit stronger.

For the Week of March 15, 2009

I’m a little hesitant to recommend that you watch American Psycho, Pisces, especially knowing how sensitive you can be.  Still, it might be a good lesson right now.  You’re all about what you value this week, particularly where money’s concerned, and you get so immersed in your subconscious energies that it can be hard to draw the line between what you value and what you are, this week.

You’ll be feeling a little dominant, which is weird for you, and unnatural.  That’s okay – go with it, just try not to be too aggressive.  That famous Pisces guilt will come back to haunt you.  You might feel a little skittish or jumpy, especially because of these counterintuitive energies in your life.  Just remember that money’s a necessary evil, everybody’s a little terrified right now about it, and that things will cycle back around – they always do.

On a more concrete level, it’s a great time to invest in yourself.  Sign up for classes, start learning a language, go buy those art supplies you’ve been meaning to get – anything that you can do to make these energies productively focused inward will be helpful and a really good call at the moment.
